Just my personal thought, the way to find your best host is the hosting company should have great support, 99% uptime warranty so that our site do not go down, and the site still up even it’s 2a.m. As a newbie in Internet business, the 250mb for a web space is enough with a 5gb bandwidth. You don’t have to be like Google, Yahoo, MSN.

For my site, CheapestCovers.com just used about 30mb webspace and 2.5gb bandwidth per month, and we get customers all around the world!

Some people prefer local hosting provider.. but some don’t. A cheap host doesn’t mean the service is poor. For you, which one do you prefer? Local host or from the outsiders such as Hostgator, GoDaddy.. etc.

Ya, I agree with you.. we say the Hosting provider is GOOD when they provide fast and efficient support, 99% uptime and give an advanced notification on their server upgrade / maintenance.

I think that the price is not the only factor, it’s the capacity that makes the differnece.
service provider that offers 50G storage or 999G bandwidth like I saw on that search engine, should have huge infrastructure, and if they offer such a huge package, then I like it.
$5 or $8 it is not such a big difference.

Price is always a factor in determining the purchase. However when it comes to hosting, you need to consider 2 things. One is the bandwidth, I think most popular hosting companies will have good bandwidth nowsdays. Secondly, the support. I have experience when I first started to use a paid hosting company, and I had trouble loging into the cp panel. I called them (fotunately, calls nowadays are cheap) in US, and they had the trouble sorted imediately.
I would recommend anyone who is new, to shop around.

im curious about his… is our local webhosting not good enough..or too expensive compares to USA based or outside malaysia?
it seems everywhere i go..ppl recommend outside malaysia webhosting… is there something i dont know and i should know .. before i go for local webhosting???

No J, I didn’t mean that Malaysian webhosting is not good. For me, our local hosting need some improvement.

When you’re looking for local hosting, make sure the server is based in US.

Road2Millionaire have to delay itself because of hosting problem. 3 months that we should wait. Then, I changed my host to Dot5hosting and until now, I didn’t got any problem. Even I asked them to refund my money, till now I didn’t get it.
